I'm going to talk about moving the pocket. This is something that when you're in the shotgun and throw as much as we do. I really feel like you can't throw from the same place every time. It kind of changes the target lines and target points that people are rushing. By moving the pocket out-of-the-box at times I think has really helped us make some big plays. The first one is out of our pistol set. We have our fullback and tailback, right by the quarterback. We will run some different runs out of this and run a little bootleg pass and move the pocket in that direction. Putting the quarterback on the run has been good.
Also, are sprint out package has been good. We have a number of different plays that we will run out of this sprint with the z running an out 12 yards and backside drags. The last one is something we've just started to work on. We actually got this from IC's coach. It's a choice route where on this side the quarterback can look and run a skinny post or fade. If that isn't there than the quarterback will drop back and roll the pocket out and hit the drag to this side. We do a couple of other things. But these are three things that has helped us because I feel that if you keep the quarterback behind the center all the time a lot of teams can really tee off on him and this gets them out of their comfort zone, slows the defense down to some degree.
